Newcastle United are set to sign Saudi Arabian international Omar Abdulrahman on loan from Al Hilal. The 27-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Magpies and is expected to make his debut against Everton on Saturday.

The fiancée of slain writer Jamal Khashoggi has expressed her displeasure with the Saudi-backed purchase of Newcastle United.
In October 2018, Khashoggi, a Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman critic, was murdered while visiting the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
The crown prince, according to Western intelligence services, ordered the assassination, which he denies.
Hatice Cengiz, who was scheduled to marry Khashoggi, stated, “I am extremely upset.”
“Since Jamal’s murder, all I’ve done is seek justice for him every day, every opportunity I’ve had, and every location I can go to find out more.”
“Then I watched the news and people were talking about the takeover, and I said to myself, ‘Please, don’t do that, please be respectful to yourself.’”
After obtaining “legally enforceable guarantees” that the Saudi state would not control Newcastle, the Premier League authorized the £305 million purchase.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF), whose chairman is Mohammed bin Salman, would provide 80% of the money for the transaction and is regarded as independent from the government.
Human rights violations have been alleged of the Saudi Arabian government, but with the main owner PIF now considered a distinct company, that, along with any piracy concerns, were no longer an obstacle to the acquisition, according to the Premier League.

PIF has £250 billion in assets, making Newcastle one of the world’s wealthiest clubs, but Cengiz wants to remind fans that there are more important things than the club’s financial health.
“It seems that they [Newcastle supporters] don’t care about what happened to Jamal; all they worry about is the financial future,” Cengiz said on Radio 5 Live Breakfast.
“I’d want to remind them that there is something more essential than money, something more significant than this club’s financial condition.”

“You should give them a clear message that they will not be able to purchase any English team as a result of this crime – this is a message that every English citizen should send them.”
“We have to remind them of what they did to Jamal since no one was held responsible, therefore we should punish them in different ways,” she said.
“At the very least, respect Jamal’s soul, since he paid a very expensive price for freedom of expression.”
Starmer is “very worried” about the acquisition.
The Labour leader, Sir Keir Starmer, expressed his “deep worry” over the Saudi-led consortium’s purchase of Newcastle and emphasized the need for an independent regulator to strengthen football administration.
“A Tory MP, Tracey Crouch, has done a study into football governance – we’re feeding into that, but I’m concerned about governance,” he told Breakfast.
“I believe we need an independent regulator – we’ve seen this with so many clubs in the past year or two – and we need a new test for directors of clubs,” she says.
“I believe it should be subjected to an independent review since there are significant questions about the country’s human rights record,” he said.
“This takeover concerns me much.
“It’s not for me to decide who should own which football club as the leader of the opposition; it’s for an independent regulator – that’s the plan we’re putting up; we’re feeding into Tracey Crouch’s answer; she’s respected throughout the House; and the sooner we have that review, the better.”
